First and foremost, Carlo is a wife and mother to two children (and one in heaven), but she is also a  graduate of College of Charleston with a Masters of Ed. Curriculum & Instruction, Integrated Teaching Through the Arts. Carlo has been captivating audiences since the age of three and inspiring the youth for over a decade.  As a teaching artist, Carlo teaches Language Arts, Journalism, and Creative Writing in a style that delights, inspires, and enlightens audiences and leads Creative Writing classes and workshops with groups of all ages. She is an author, a master storyteller, dramatist, arts integration specialist, motivational speaker, educator, and community activist who compels her audience through audience participation, enthusiasm, and engagement.

 

As a singer/songwriter, her LP "The Book of My Revelation" is comprised of original songs all written & arranged by Carlo L’Chelle. The LP displays her vocal ability & range as well as her distinctive writing capability. A crowd favorite "Bless Your Soul" urges women to embrace their inner beauty.  Carlo has been commissioned to write and recite countless poems, plays, stories, and songs for special occasions. Most notably, Carlo wrote, directed, and starred, in the "The Missing Voice" a one-woman show and educational workshop to bring awareness to the educational and social needs of teenagers while providing teaching strategies for educators. Moreover, this multifaceted humanitarian  founded  PROGENY, a multi-cultural youth service organization to  promote tolerance of all cultures in which she has created a curriculum for diversity and inclusion. Carlo L’Chelle Dawson is author of the life-changing "Semblance of a Footprint", in which she encourages grieving mothers and their families through beautifully written poetry, strategies, & scriptures for healing and comfort. She is also the author of the historic and engaging children's books "Why We Celebrate: The Rich Legacy of Juneteenth" and "Daring Dave: Who is Dave the Potter?"

 

When not writing, Carlo enjoys spending time with her family and friends, event planning, Zumba, cooking, and community activism. She is a community activist who proudly serves as the chair of the City of Rock Hill Community Relations Council and  past president for Juneteenth Rock Hill, Inc. Carlo strongly believes anything is possible with God and lives by the scripture, “I can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens me”-Philippians 4:13. As stated in “My Revelation”, the title track on Carlo L’Chelle Dawson’s LP, It is [her] destiny. She will succeed, and it is her calling to inspire you to do the same."
