The Missing Voice 
One Woman Show Student Edition

The importance of promoting student voice and student empowerment for engagement
in education.

How many students feel as if they are

"missing"---merely names on a list? With over two decades in education, Award-winning Edutainer, Dramatist, Poet, Author, &

Storyteller has encountered many "missing voices." In this session, participants will

witness a "missing voice" monologue in the "voice" of the voiceless---from Carlo Dawson.

Mrs. Dawson will provide attendees with differentiation teaching strategies for all students.

                                                                                 

Two workshop offerings:
Teacher Focused Objective: This eductor-centered workshop option offers lessons

and strategies that will equip teacher leaders with tools to foster student critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, communication, and collaboration skills along with academic subject mastery all while increasing student interest. (That's right! You will see increased student engagement when applying this proven approach.)

OR:

Student Focused Objective: This student-centered workshop option offers a safe space for students to share their emotions by engaging in a missing voice piece.  Students will gain tools to be active participants in the educational process and in life.

The importance of promoting educator voice, educator empowerment, efficacy, and
retention in education.

How many educators feel as if they are       

"missing"---merely cogs in the educational    machine? How many teachers, support staff,

principals, and teacher leaders feel as if the 

system has failed them? How many feel as if they are neglected, overworked, underpaid, and underappreciated?

 

With over two decades in education, Award-winning Edutainer, Dramatist, Poet, Author, & Storyteller Carlo L'Chelle Dawson has encountered many "missing voices." In this session, participants will witness  "missing voice" monologues in the "voice" of the voiceless---from Carlo Dawson. Mrs. Dawson will provide attendees with a safe space for educators to share their innermost frustrations while receiving strategies for self care and empowerment. 

                                                                              
Objective: This workshop offers a safe space for educators to share their emotions by engaging in a missing voice piece. In this session, educators will be equipped with tools to refuel their passion, progress, and purpose as individuals inside and outside the classroom.

Iconic and innovative individuals such as Coretta Scott-King, Ruby Bridges, Harriet Tubman and Ida B. Wells are honored through storytelling and dramatizations.  Experiences are customizable for all audiences and objectives.
